6 down, 4 to go!

In a dramatic three-day period which included two 3-hour papers, almost a third of every EEE student's overall 2nd year grade was determined this week. Spanning five subjects, this was the most grueling phase of the second year EEE examinations, with the remaining four papers well spaced out to allow students to coast to the year's end in a relatively relaxed state.

A party of these students organised a movie outing the evening of this very day, to mark the end of 'the worst week of second year'. They rushed across Hyde Park to Queensway to catch the 2130 showing of X-Men 3, stopping for a brief kebab dinner along the way. Less objective paragraphs follow....

Taza kebabs are good, but a bit wet. It's rare to be able to eat out for £3 these days.

I don't know the X-Men story, and obviously had better things to read up than that, so I was content to watch the action. I must say some of the scenes were quite impressive, especially Magneto ripping up the Golden Gate Bridge and placing it to connect Alcatraz with SF city... but from an engineering perspective, the bridge is too weak to hold without the cables, so why did it not collapse? That's the movies for you. :)
