A Belated Introduction

I just realised I've not shown off the love of my life (OK, yes, it's an inanimate object!).

We've been together since June and we've done some travelling together, getting to know each other, and I've been so enamoured that I keep forgetting to make the introduction! (And I've been doing better things, like taking pictures and posting them on my Flickr site!)

Meet my Pentax K100D. On it is the 5th lens in my collection, the rather nice manual-focus SMC Pentax-A 28mm f/2.8 prime, which I picked up together with a Pentax P30 body for the rather low price of £40 shipped.

My PENTAX K100D

Sadly, one can no longer acquire oneself a Pentax K100D. This model has been supplanted at Pentax by the K100D Super, which offers everything the K100D does, plus a better Shake Reduction, SDM lens support, dust removal and it seems, slightly better image processing.

If you have money and have been considering the Canon 40D or the Nikon D80 as a DSLR, I urge you to take a look at the Pentax K10D. It just might work for you and it costs half as much as either of the two Canikons (plus you can use a bargain lens like the one above).
